WEIGHT LOSS AND EXERCISES: THIRTY TO FORTY MINUTES GETS THE JOB DONE
Exercising about thirty to forty minutes once a week for the next four weeks is realistic. One session (or thirty to forty minutes of exercise in short bouts) a week may not sound like much, but if you haven't been exercising, that time to exercise represents a significant departure from your current lifestyle. Ease yourself into the program and then progress. After the first four weeks, add a second session or another thirty to forty minutes in short bouts and continue to exercise twice weekly for the next four weeks. When you reach the point where you can perform three exercise sessions a week on a regular basis, then you have reached the "flip the switch" magic number. Three times a week gets the job done.
Thirty to forty minutes is all the time that is required if you exercise intelligently and consistently, and employ the right exercise prescription to meet your goals. Once again, realize that a thirty- to forty-minute exercise session is enormously beneficial and not just for beginners but for all individuals.
